Grotto Falls is a beautiful place that is family friendly. For Kentucky it might not seem like much but in Utah it is an amazing find. The main trail is easy to follow but there are side trails that are fun to explore (especially when you're with your best friend). In the heat of Utah you might not think that the small creek that leads away from the waterfall would be really REALLY REALLY cold. Trust me I know. My (Utah BFF) Emma and I waded in knee deep water with water shoes on. It was the perfect temperature for hiking. We decided to pick a fairly easy hike because we didn't know how well Emma could hike. We also wanted time to explore. It started to rain on us right as we arrived at the waterfall. We quickly hiked through the thunder and rain to the car. When we got to the car we spread out a picnic blanket in the trunk of the car and munched on some pringles. Like 5 minutes after we got in the car it stopped raining. We finished up our snack and decided to explore and dip our feet in the water. After the hike we got slushies at McDonalds. I had a really fun time hiking today. I hope I can go again sometime!
That is beautiful Leah!
ReplyDeleteHi Leah. Well written and great pictures to illustrate. It was so nice to have you visit. Hopefully getting back to school will be great this year.
ReplyDeleteHi Leah! That was a great review! Thanks for writing about your hike. It sounded like an epic adventure! You girls are so cute, and the falls look amazing. Thanks for sharing your experience and your pictures. I feel like to was able to follow along from a hovering drone and see the whole thing. Great job!
ReplyDeleteFrom Mom,
ReplyDeleteYou did a great job detailing your hike. It was a wonderful time together. I loved that you and Emma had a chance to explore and enjoy without being rushed. The waterfall was a rare find for that area of Utah. Perfect afternoon to share with you and Emma.
