We went hiking with the experts! They showed us beach trees, maple trees, clover that tastes like green apples, and even wild onions. The hike was really beautiful. It was the kind of day that your not sure if you want to leave your sweater on or off. The falls were more like a trickle of water. There were three arches, one cave, and one trickle of water. The last arch was the best. I can't wait to go again sometime. I love Carter Caves. Goodbye for now!
hello everyone
ReplyDeleteHi Leah
ReplyDeleteThis looks like an amazing place to go hiking. I bet you had a wonderful time!
Nice to have an expert! They teach all kinds of stuff you wouldn't think of. Excited to see your next adventure...
ReplyDeleteLuckies! This is just incredible! Kentucky definitely has some of the most beautiful country--in the country! I want to go on your hikes, Leah.
ReplyDeleteHi Leah! I love the pictures, and the odd selfies. The caves are amazing. It is great that they were able to teach you all about the woods. I am sure that early settlers knew all about edible plants. It is so cool to see you take an interest in the great forests of Kentucky!
ReplyDeleteNot sure I would drink that water without filtration, though...
ReplyDeleteStephanie was just being silly.
DeleteThis is so fun!
ReplyDeleteFrom Samone,
ReplyDeleteI loved it! I have posted twice but neither have shown up on your blog. Too bad. I wanted to tell you my favorite picture which was the one with the little Eastern Fence Lizard crawling up your arm. Can't wait to do it again sometime.
From Mom,
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed the hike. It has so many interesting things to see along the way. The huge arch at the end is always a surprise, as I forget how big it. I love to imagine who may have lived under that arch long ago. Thanks for always being my hiking partner.
this was a great study in facial expressions to natures education :)
ReplyDeleteFrom Grandma Fligge I also wouldn't reach into that hollow log either, ? content
