Camping at Cumberland Falls

    I went camping with my family at Cumberland Falls. When we got there we set up the tent and ate lunch. We unpacked our stuff and drove to Dog Slaughter Trail. When we got there, Stephanie said she forgot her phone. Of course everyone was worried because it could have been anywhere. So we drove back to the tent to look for it. Thank goodness we found it. We ended up going to Eagle Falls. Eagle Falls was really pretty, but of course we got lost. I think Dad is our lost charm. When Dad comes with us we usually get lost. When we finally returned to the campsite it was late afternoon. Dad and I made a campfire. We ate foil dinner and s'mores for dinner.

    On the second day we had hot chocolate, pancakes, eggs, and sausages for breakfast. After breakfast we went to Cumberland Falls. We looked around for a little while. Then we went back to the tent for lunch. We ate chicken wraps for lunch. After we ate lunch we went to Dog Slaughter Trail. [ Again.] It was a beautiful hike. It was fun to explore. For dinner we had hot dogs and cinnamon bread. 

    On the third day we ate pop tarts and hot cereal for breakfast. After breakfast we all helped pack up. Soon we were on the road headed for home.

    We were supposed to stay an extra day but we decided to leave a day early because we thought it was going to rain a lot.

    Hi Leah! It was fun to camp with you. You were a great help starting the fire. I am glad you were my hiking buddy. It is hard for me to keep up with Mom. You always brighten my day and make hiking fun. I am glad we were able to see such beautiful sights and enjoy our time as a family. Great job writing about our adventures! Love you! It was a splendiferous waterfall!

    This looks like a fun camping trip. Did you like sleeping in a tent? What waterfall did you like the most?
    I like all the pictures you posted. They are very neat. God has blessed us with a beautiful world.

    Mom-Leah, I loved camping with you. It was fun to cook on the fire and experiment with the cinnamon twists. I'm glad that we got so see 3 great falls. I will go back to Cumberland Falls, but I will skip the Eagle Falls trail with over 300 stairs. Too many for me to enjoy.

    I've been to dog slaughter! We had so much fun! It's so funny that Stephanie keeps going under waterfalls!

    Fun to see your adventures! I get lost all the time - usually when I'm concentrating on something else and not paying attention. Joy in the journey, right? Hope you get in a few more fun adventures before the cold weather.
